{Movie Monday} The Hiding Place

November 15, 2010 § Leave a comment

The book “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom was my favorite book as a child and I think it’s still my favorite. I recently watched the movie based on the book and was very pleasantly surprised to find it closely follows the gist of the story. One of my favorite parts of the story is how God’s purpose for her life just came – it wasn’t sought after or worried about. And yet they clearly demonstrated the Gospel in one of the darkest periods of the world. One of my favorite lines from the book is when someone talks to Corrie later in her life (after a successful book and speaking tour) and says, “Wow! God’s been good to you!” She immediately replied, “No, God was GOOD to me when we were in the concentration camp.” I love it!

Check out the trailer…the movie is available on Netflix.
