12 suitcases

12 suitcases. How do we fit our life into twelve suitcases? When we move to Africa in August* that’s all we get.
It’s moments like this that I wonder if we really have given up materialism and the stuff that comprises The American Way. Must I really travel with two (!) suitcases filled with clothes and one entirely composed of shoes? Do I really need that much of my special makeup remover (seen here)?? That’s three. Ben gets two for his clothes and shoes. Kitchen and household items are another two. Can’t forget my garlic press and treasury of spices. And books! Let’s not forget books. Two avid readers both with electronic reading devices and we still are taking fifty pounds of books with us. Four more will easily be filled by the worldly goods piled haphazardly on the floor. This is quite the process.
To Zambia we go!
*This is contingent on large NGOs and international Governments getting their act together. So don’t ask me if we have a departure date yet. We don’t. okthanksloveyoubye.*
